Wednesday, November 7, 8pm, Symphony Hall

The Simon Bolivar National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela is the flagship ensemble of Venezuela’s unique and inspiring system of music education and performance. For 30 years, "El Sistema" has been making classical musicians out of half-a-million young Venezuelans, transforming the lives of the nation’s poorest youths. Among its most important alumni is the dazzling young conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who is making an international splash.

As part of its friendship agreement with El Sistema, New England Conservatory is sponsoring this Boston residency. Come hear the brilliant young musicians of the Simon Bolivar National Youth Orchestra and renew your faith in the power of music.

“There is no more important work being done in music now than is being done in Venezuela.”
