Geography, Giovanni, and Genre: Three subscription suggestions
With 41 diverse artists to choose from in our 2010-2011 season, the variety of possible subscriptions is truly vast. We'd like to offer three collections that highlight connections among the season's artists.
Artists from the Eastern Bloc The Soviet empire has collapsed, but the eastern European tradition of great artistry continues. This season we present three Russian artists, as well as virtuosos and ensembles from Croatia, Latvia, the former East Germany, and Hungary. We also celebrate the combination of Russian musical innovation with traditional folk narratives in puppeteer Basil Twist's Petrushka, set to a duo piano arrangement of Stravinsky's ballet score.

Hvorostovsky also starred as Don Giovanni in the Metropolitan Opera 2002-2003 season production. He comes to Symphony Hall on February 27.
Symphony Hall Outside the Orchestra Throughout its history, Symphony Hall has been used for a wide array of events, from science lectures to fashion shows. This season we present six performances that bring everything but orchestras into the hall. Enjoy the ambiance, architecture, and acoustics of Symphony Hall with some new and unexpected sights and sounds.
