Celebrity Series is excited to announce our 2013 Dance Now! summer dance programs in collaboration with the following organizations:

Boston Public Schools Summer Intensive Dance Program
(July 8-August 9, 2013)

The Boston Public Schools and Celebrity Series of Boston are pleased to announce their collaboration on the BPS Summer Intensive Dance Program, a four hour program for up to 80 students in grades 6-8, to be held mornings at the Orchard Gardens K-8 School. Under the direction of Artistic Director Mila Thigpen, students of all abilities will be offered a variety of dance technique classes, workshops in team building and personal development, and a final performance. Dance Now! is designed to help students develop self-awareness, flexibility, strength, balance and coordination. Additional activities may include viewing dance on film, reading and writing assignments, and group discussions. Faculty from The Celebrity Series and Boston Public Schools will tailor the curriculum to prepare middle school students for a challenging dance experience, and/or elect to continue dance at a more intensive level in high school. The BPS program is open to students free of charge.
