Sunday, October 19, 3pm, NEC’s Jordan Hall
Soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian’s first trip to her ancestral home of Armenia was captured in the 2005 documentary,
A Long Journey Home. Her trip also inspired the creation of this program celebrating the music of Gomidas (1869–1935), Armenia’s national composer. The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Serouj Kradjian (piano) and Hampic Djabourian (duduk) will join Bayrakdarian for this stop on her Remembrance Tour.
“Isabel Bayrakdarian’s is a voice the world seems destined to know well.”
