8pm — Berklee Performance Center
Fats Waller was a prolific jazz pianist and composer recognized for his works of genius in the stride piano tradition. In this program, the ambitious and creative pianist Jason Moran once again challenges the status quo as he views Waller’s music through two lenses: the jazz piano trio and as contemporary dance music. Don’t miss this exhilarating evening!
Just added to the lineup is bassist and singer Meshell Ndegeocello. Ndegeocello is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, bassist, and vocalist whose music incorporates a wide variety of influences, including funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, R&B, rock, and jazz. She has received significant critical acclaim throughout her career and has had ten career Grammy Award nominations.
