Brazilian-born guitarists Sérgio and Odair Assad’s exceptional artistry and uncanny ensemble-playing have led to great success in exploring different styles of classical and world music. Here they team up with Israeli mandolin player Avi Avital. Avital is a driving force behind the reinvigoration of the mandolin repertory, and his 2016 Jordan Hall recital was a sleeper hit of the chamber music season. The trio bring a program that explores both classical repertoire and traditional Choro music, a popular genre in Brazil known for its upbeat rhythms and brazen virtuosity.

“The best two-guitar team in existence,
maybe even in history…”

—The Washington Post

“Sweet-voiced mandolin, played with rare grace, guts, flair and daring by Avi Avital…”
—The Times, London
