Play Me, I'm Yours

September 23 - October 10, 2016

Produced by Celebrity Series of Boston, this recent installment of Play Me, I’m Yours, a public art installation created by British artist Luke Jerram, featured 60 pianos decorated by 60 local artists for the public to play and enjoy. Pianos were placed in public outdoor spaces in every Boston neighborhood and select Cambridge locations, and each piano featured a simple invitation: “Play Me, I’m Yours.”

Since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours has been installed in more than 50 cities and reached more than 10 million people globally. See tour highlights from around the world at www.streetpianos.com.

The 2016 installment was produced as part of Arts for All!, Celebrity Series’ community engagement program that reaches over 10,000 individuals annually through master classes; hands-on, interactive workshops for youth; free community concerts in Boston neighborhoods; free tickets to performances; and large-scale, public participatory performance projects such as Street Pianos Boston.

“Our Arts for All! program is a core part of our mission at the Celebrity Series, to ensure performing arts are a valued, lifelong, shared experience,” said Gary Dunning, Celebrity Series President and Executive Director.  “Street Pianos Boston is a perfect fit for this program, bringing visual and performance art into the community.  Street Pianos Boston proves art truly is everywhere and everyone can participate.”
