May 8, 2020

Dear Friends,

New England Conservatory announced on May 8 that Jordan Hall and all of their performances and rehearsal facilities would be closed to all outside renters for the entire 2020-2021 academic year. Celebrity Series had sixteen performances scheduled in Jordan Hall and Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre scheduled for the upcoming season.

There are four performances previously scheduled for Jordan Hall in Spring 2021 that we are attempting to move to alternate locations. Sir András Schiff, Dreamers’ Circus, Alisa Weilerstein with Trondheim Soloists, and the Emerson String Quartet are thereby listed as “Venue TBD.” We hope to be able to make an announcement within a couple of weeks. The remaining performances are canceled and ticket holders will be contacted by our box office to review their options.

We are exploring live stream options as well as the possibility of rescheduling artists into our next -2021-2022- Celebrity Series season. We will make announcements about those efforts when we are able.

I deeply regret that our audiences will not be able to gather at Jordan Hall to see these wonderful performers as planned this season.  Be on the lookout for updates regarding live stream options, new dates and venues of many of these Jordan events in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we continue to offer a wide range of performers, genres and programs in our 2020-21 season. I urge you to explore them on this website.

Sincerely,

Gary Dunning

Note: All ticket holders have been contacted about their canceled performance tickets.  Please contact boxoffice@celebrityseries.org with any questions related to tickets to these performances.
