(Boston) Celebrity Series of Boston will present An Evening with the Julian Lage Trio on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 8pm at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA. The concert is generously sponsored in part by Donna and Michael Egan.

Tickets start at $35 and are available online at www.celebrityseries.org, by calling (617) 482-6661 Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., or at the Berklee Performance Center Box Office, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA.

This concert marks the second Celebrity Series performance for Julian Lage; he made his debut in 2017 with Aoife O’Donovan and Chris Eldridge. This will be the Celebrity Series debut performance for Julian’s trio members bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Eric Doob.

Jazz guitarist Julian Lage is somewhat of a child prodigy – starting his instrument at the age of five and performing in public a year later. Shortly thereafter, Lage began playing with such renowned artists as Carlos Santana, Pat Metheny and Kenny Werner, among others, resulting in Lage being the subject of the 1997 Academy Award-nominating documentary film Jules at Eight

In addition to performing, Lage has recorded a number of albums, and he has appeared at numerous jazz festivals, as well as at the 2000 Grammy Awards. In 2009, he released his debut solo album, Sounding Point, which was widely celebrated as the arrival of a new and authoritative voice on the instrument.
