Heart of the Holidays: Tales of Light

Salvation Army Kroc Center

Find renewed inspiration and joy with this non-conventional yet engaging holiday show. Folding radio drama-style stories into a world music concert that "explodes with artistry, refinement and excitement," (Hebrew Union College), tales, gorgeous harmonies and healthy dose of humor and heart bring audiences right into the essence of the holidays: the choice to celebrate abundance at the height of scarcity, to feel the hope of possibility where it seemed there was none, and to spark light just when it grows darkest around us.  With spoken word and songs inspired by the artists’ African, European, North American heritage traditions, Heart of the Holidays invites audiences to an older, deepened connection, cutting through the commercial cliché, right to the heart of the season.

“We loved it! The kids, the spoken words, the beautiful instruments, music and harmonies. The healing and political messages were much appreciated. So moving.”
