With an overwhelming talent and innate musicality, Seong-Jin Cho is a rising star on the world stage and is considered one of the most distinctive pianists of his generation. His playing, by turns thoughtful, poetic, assertive, tender, virtuosic, and colorful, combines panache with purity and is driven by an impressive natural sense of balance.  

Seong-Jin Cho first came to the world’s attention in 2015 when he became the first South Korean to win the prestigious Gold Medal at the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw. “This latest Chopin Competition winner can stand proud next to the likes of such illustrious past winners as Pollini, Argerich, and Zimerman,” raved Pianist magazine. 

For his Boston recital debut, Cho lends his powerful yet nuanced approach to works by composers Handel, Brahms, and Schumann.
