A modern-day cathedral in the heart of Boston, Harvard- Epworth Church is a progressive house of worship whose overarching mission promotes faith exploration and fights against social injustices, while reinforcing communal ties.
Rich in history, the church’s pioneer preacher, Jesse Lee, first visited the city in 1792, spreading methodism across the capital of Massachusetts. In the decades that followed, the church leaders worked with an architect to develop the “Romanesque design featuring a light red granite and red sandstone exterior,” building.
Still standing and in use today, the new Celebrity Series performance venue is wheelchair accessible, and has easy access to gender-neutral bathrooms, located on the main floors.
The Celebrity Series' Neighborhood Arts program partners with the church to produce community events.
