Sustaining Membership FAQ

Q: What does it mean to be a Sustaining Member?

A: Becoming a Sustainer means your monthly pledge will automatically roll over every 12 months. Payments will automatically be charged monthly on a credit or debit card of your choosing. There’s no need to renew, and you can cancel anytime.

Q: What if I want to increase or decrease my contribution?

A: You are welcome to change your contribution amount or frequency at any time, just contact us! You are also welcome to make an additional gift at any time. The same procedures apply if your financial circumstances change and you need to reduce your gift.

Q: Will I still receive my membership benefits?

A: Absolutely! When you set up your pledge to automatically renew, you are eligible for all benefits offered at a pledge level equal to your total donations for your membership year. (e.g. If you pledge $10 monthly, you are eligible for benefits offered at the $120 pledge level.)

Q: How do I cancel my sustaining membership?

A: To stop your Sustaining Membership, simply provide written notice by mail or email at least 15 days prior to when you want your last donation to occur. Or call our Advancement team at 617-598-3232 to begin the cancellation process and we will email you a confirmation.
