Part of the Roxbury Concert Series at the Boston Public Library - Roxbury Branch.
Venezuelan pianist Leo Blanco performs with his trio, bringing you an afternoon of Latin Jazz originals. Blanco, an acclaimed pianist now on the faculty at Longy and Berklee, grew up in the Venezuelan Andes, where he absorbed folk music that blended American, Afro-Caribbean, and European influences.
Blanco's Celebrity Series debut this season with The Sugar Road Ensemble highlighted the blending of styles that shaped his musical background, showcasing the African influences that shaped many Latin American musical styles.
Admission is free and open to all. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert begins.
