Poet, entrepreneur, educator, and tenor saxophone player Tim Hall, the 2020 Boston Music Awards “Session Musician of the Year,” makes his Neighborhood Arts debut in collaboration with percussionist, composer, and public artist Maria Finkelmeier, a “creative catalyst” responsible for music and multimedia creations at some of Boston’s iconic spaces: the Hatch Shell, the Charles River Esplanade, Fenway Park’s Green Monster, and more.
Hall and Finkelmeier team up for Finding HOME, a program of self-composed music and improvisations for saxophone and marimba, as well as other percussion, electronics, and poetry. The duo explore their very different midwestern roots, and their compositions are inspired by the routes that they took in their life journeys across the United States, to other countries, and back again to find their homes and cultivate community in Boston.
This performance is part of our Neighborhood Arts Global Percussion Series.
Also available as a streaming performance premiering March 30, 2023 at 4pm.
