The spectacular and vibrant two-time Grammy®-award winning Soweto Gospel Choir returns to the Boston with Songs of the Free, a very special program celebrating the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela. Songs of the Free will include South African classics as well as freedom songs and gospel music much loved by Mandela, in front of whom the choir had the privilege of performing multiple times. A favorite of Celebrity Series audiences, Soweto Gospel Choir has performed to sell-out crowds at concert halls around the world and alongside superstars including Bono, Queen, Celine Dion, John Legend, Peter Gabriel, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder.
