Chris Thile & Aoife O'Donovan
Called “a vocalist of unerring instinct” by the New York Times, Boston native Aoife O’Donovan is one of the most sought after vocalists and songwriters of her generation. A co-founder of the bands Crooked Still and I’m With Her, O’Donovan’s career has allowed her to collaborate with some of the most eminent names in music across a wide variety of genres. Multiple Grammy Award-winner and MacArthur Fellow Chris Thile, a member of Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer and vocalist. These two frequent collaborators bring the spark and joy of their musical friendship to a special digital performance recorded exclusively for the Celebrity Series audience.

Harp and Vibraphone duo
It's an unlikely pairing of instruments -- a harp and a vibraphone -- but the extraordinary duo of Charles Overton and Julian Loida make it work so well. The two are frequent collaborators, and they weave their ethereal sounds together in music that crosses and combines styles: ambient, jazz, world, classical, and much more.

Christian McBride's New Jawn
Six-time Grammy-winning jazz bassist Christian McBride can be likened to a force of nature, fusing the fire and fury of a virtuoso with the depth and grounding of a seasoned journeyman. Powered by a relentless energy and a boundless love of swing, McBride’s path has described a continuous positive arc since his arrival on the scene. With a career now blazing into its third decade, the Philadelphia native has become one of the most requested, most recorded, and most respected figures in the music world today. McBride turns to one of the city’s most beloved colloquialisms to christen his new pianoless quartet, Christian McBride’s New Jawn.

Guy Mendilow
An Evening of Musical Tales
Boston-based Guy Mendilow -- whose musical explorations range around the world, from the Ladino music of the Sephardic Jewish Diaspora, to China, South Africa, and beyond -- presents an evening of videos that will include a virtual adaptation of "The Forgotten Kingdom" with sand animation, along with new videos and live recordings from his Ensemble.

Dreamers' Circus
A new force in Nordic world music is the young Danish trio, Dreamers’ Circus. Contemporary and innovative in their approach, drawing inspiration from the deep traditions of folk music in the region and reshaping them into something bright, shiny and new. Their art embraces music from Denmark and Sweden as well as Iceland, Finland and the far reaches of the windswept Faroe Islands. Dreamersʼ Circus are Nikolaj Busk on piano and accordion, Ale Carr on Nordic cittern and Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen also of the Danish String Quartet, on violin. The ensemble has won five prestigious Danish Music Awards and frequently collaborates with the Danish String Quartet and the Copenhagen Philharmonic.

Global Voices United
Women of the World -- four vocalists from around the globe who come together in friendship and music-making -- return to the Series for a performance that celebrates the beauty in the diverse ways that people from cultures all over the world express themselves through song.

Conrad Tao, piano
Conrad Tao is, quite simply, a phenomenon. The pianist and composer has been dubbed a musician of “probing intellect and open-hearted vision” by The New York Times. Tao is a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, and was named a Gilmore Young Artist—an honor awarded every two years highlighting the most promising American pianists of the new generation. Celebrity Series audiences were electrified by More Forever, Tao’s stunning collaboration with dancer Caleb Teicher in January 2020.
