One of today’s foremost pianists, the multi-award–winning MacArthur Genius Jeremy Denk, returns to the Celebrity Series to perform Bach’s immortal Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1

This collection of music has informed and fascinated musicians and audiences alike for the past 300 years, and Denk’s deep understanding and inspired interpretation of it is an invaluable addition to its legacy.

The profound love and admiration Denk feels for this music is unmistakable. “What you find here is completely new, rejuvenating, alive; it doesn’t bother tugging at your heartstrings, it just enters your bloodstream,” he professes.

After a long wait and a postponed tour scheduled to bring this project from New York’s Carnegie Hall to London’s Barbican Centre and beyond, Denk will finally perform this all-time great collection of Bach preludes and fugues in front of a live audience at GBH Calderwood Studio.
