Boston-based Jonathan Suazo is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, and cultural catalyst, using music to celebrate and illuminate his Puerto Rican and Dominican roots. Whether leading drum circles, mentoring young artists, or crafting dynamic performances, he seamlessly bridges tradition and innovation.
His first album, Ricano, was named one of The New York Times’ top ten Jazz albums of 2023, with DownBeat magazine praising how “Suazo envelops us in a soundscape propelled by lyrical sax playing."
As the release of Ricano, Vol. 2 approaches, don't miss this exciting live preview of Suazo’s potent, thrilling Afro-Caribbean jazz.
