Tyshawn Sorey drums/multi-instrumentalist
Harish Raghavan bass
Aaron Diehl piano

A singular force in contemporary music, Tyshawn Sorey seamlessly blends jazz, classical, and improvisatory traditions from Europe and Africa to redefine the expressive potential of the drum kit. Guided by his “world aesthetic,” his compositions unfold with deliberate brilliance, erasing boundaries and reshaping 21st-century American music.

Honored with the 2024 Pulitzer Prize in music and a 2017 MacArthur “Genius” Award, Sorey is an artist of limitless potential, who facilitates moments of introspection and transcendence.

He is joined by pianist Aaron Diehl and bassist Harish Raghavan, equally fearless musical partners whose collaboration on The Susceptible Now—hailed by the New York Times as “quietly stunning”—pushes the limits of musical storytelling.

Experience the immersive and meditative artistry of the Tyshawn Sorey Trio.

“ standard-song jazz interpretations by Sorey’s trio don’t sound like anybody else’s ”
