Baritone Matthias Goerne and pianist Daniil Trifonov offer a deeply expressive recital featuring one of Schubert’s profound late masterpieces, and an earlier work from the prime of his career. Combining Goerne’s interpretative depth with Trifonov’s fiery pianism, they deliver an emotionally rich performance exploring themes of farewell, introspection, and serenity through moving renditions of Schwanengesang and the G Major Piano Sonata (D. 894), the final piano sonata published in Schubert's lifetime.

Pan-Latin ensemble Sol y Canto returns to Neighborhood Arts to celebrate Day of the Dead with songs, stories, and artwork bringing the beloved Mexican holiday to life. Singer and percussionist Rosi Amador and guitarist and singer Brian Amador, alongside string and wind instrument players and other special guests, perform traditional songs and poetic originals that will make you laugh, cry, and dance as you remember special moments and connect with the spirit of Día de los Muertos.

Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Meta4's performance scheduled for November 2 is no longer possible. We are pleased to announce that Viano Quartet will be stepping in, making their Celebrity Series debut.

Called “a marvelously expressive interpreter with a keen sense of how to get to the emotional heart of a work” by Minnesota’s Star-Tribune, Beatrice Rana returns to Celebrity Series with a program that shows off her refinement and virtuosity. She brings her storytelling prowess and emotional expressiveness to two well-loved ballet suites: highlights from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker suite. 

This intergenerational class celebrates community and creative identity through movement. Participants will engage with social dances rooted in the Black American experience and Diaspora traditions. It’s high energy, joy-filled, and includes dialogue, history and connection alongside movement. No dance experience needed, or special clothes/footwear.

Brown & Dancers, you're invited to gather at the Celebrity Series office to talk about the book Katherine Dunham: Dance and the African Diaspora by Joanna Dee Das. Discuss the influential choreographer/dancer/scholar whose work redefined dance! Please join us for light refreshments and a facilitated one-hour discussion about the book and related topics. Read part or all of the book selection: it's a jumping-off point for a lively and thought-provoking conversation! Performance tickets not required, and company representatives will not be involved.
