Extraordinary American countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo is a previous Metropolitan Opera National Auditions Grand Prize Winner who has thrilled audiences on some of opera’s biggest stages, and now he brings his dazzling instrument with its “super pianissimo that just stops traffic,” according to director Peter Sellars, to intimate Pickman Hall for a Debut Series recital with pianist David Moody. Program to include arias by George Frideric Handel, a premiere of a new piece written for Anthony by Gregory Spears, plus other works by Henry Purcell, Benjamin Britten, Francis Poulenc, and Philip Glass.
