(For Immediate Release—June 16, 2021) Celebrity Series of Boston announces the appointment of Sara Brookner as the new Associate Director of Institutional Giving. In this role, Ms. Brookner will oversee securing contributed income from corporate, foundation, and government entities in support of the artistic and community programs of the Celebrity Series of Boston.   

Emily Borababy, Chief Advancement Officer at the Celebrity Series, says, “Sara is a skilled communicator and relationship builder, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her to the Celebrity Series Advancement team.”

Sara Brookner spent nearly five years as the Foundation Relations Manager at Emerson College's Office of the Arts, primarily fundraising for their professional presenting and producing arm, ArtsEmerson, and HowlRound Theatre Commons. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Engagement for the Jewish Arts Collaborative, building community partnerships and raising funds in support of JArts’ programs. 

A dramaturg by training, Sara has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance from Dickinson College and a Masters in Fine Arts in Dramaturgy from the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University/Moscow Art Theatre School. She proudly serves on the board of StageSource and on MASSCreative’s leadership council.
