CELEBRITY SERIES OF BOSTON ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO FALL 2020 PROGRAMMING AT THE BERKLEE PERFORMANCE CENTER

(For Immediate Release) Celebrity Series of Boston announces changes to two fall performances at the Berklee Performance Center. The College has announced that they are using the venue exclusively for internal and institutional events this fall. This announcement impacts the following performances:

Duets – Dianne Reeves, Chucho Valdés & Joe Lovano | Nov. 8, 2020

The status of this performance is now pending with a further follow-up announcement to follow.

Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, Big Band Holidays with Rubén Blades | Dec. 12, 2020

This performance is moved to June 13, 2021 at 7pm at Symphony Hall with Pops style seating. The program is:

“God Bless America” | Featuring the JLCO with Wynton Marsalis

June 13, 2021 at 7pm at Symphony Hall

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis dedicates an evening to the immensely popular Irving Berlin, once called “the greatest songwriter that has ever lived” by George Gershwin. With classics like “God Bless America,” “I’ll Be Loving You Always,” “Count Your Blessings,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” and “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” it will be a big-band showcase of timeless great American Songbook, Broadway, and Hollywood hits.

The performance features authentic big-band charts as they were played by the original, iconic big bands, plus brand-new arrangements by members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Celebrity Series is committed to keeping audiences and artists fully informed of any cancellations or postponements as they occur in a timely fashion. Celebrity Series is in communication with all of the partner venues as they assess their own situations and respond to governmental guidelines.

In order to provide audience members with the most flexible options, Celebrity Series has adopted a new temporary refund policy for subscribers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. By noon of the last business day before a performance, subscribers may request a full refund of the cost of tickets for that performance, even if that performance proceeds normally. This policy is in effect through December 31, 2020, and is subject to revision based on the recommendations of local and national health officials.

The Jazz Series is sponsored by Leslie & Howard Appleby.
